Double Pedestal Early Texas Design Cherry Table
A client wanted an Early Texas design dining table created by a Texas craftsman for her new home in the hill country. The table design was inspired by photographs in “Texas Furniture” by Lonn Taylor and David B. Warren. The solid cherry table measures 4’ x 10’ with double pedestals.
The final top and pedestal bases were finished with pre-catalyzed lacquer for a warm, but durable finish.
Photo shows the raw cherry boards of the top being aligned for matching grain.
The pedestals were created by gluing up octagons for turning that had been pre-mortised to accept the pedestal legs.
